In the past I was impressed by one Maxwell plugin developer, he implement a lot of nice new features to Rhino within a short time (with a nice polished UI).
OCTANE RENDER MAYA EXPORTER SOFTWARE
Yes, developing a new software cost a lot of time and the invest of money will come back over the time only (if the quality is right).
OCTANE RENDER MAYA EXPORTER PRO
As pro user I like to get what I payed for. Features that work with small test scenes only are useless. I think if a company decides to sell a software, than it doesn’t matter how much user bought it, the quality must be right. That’s my impression of my Octane session today. One hour for export only! I want to stop the export - now way, I need to kill Rhino at the task manager. one hour (in this case the Alembic file will be finally 300MB, so a SSD wouldn’t help).

every 1 minute the Bongo slider jumps one tick - so, the export will need approx. I started an export of the animation - approx. OK, I set the path again and start a rendering - HDRI path error again, but render looks ok. First problem, the env HDRI path isn’t found ( I changed the file location in the past and saved the Rhino file). The Rhino file was created some weeks before. My short animation of a technical device is a 60 ticks bongo animation. Today I tested the export of the animation again. So, if the problem is known and can’t be solved than tell it to your potential users, write it at the feature list - only basic animation support of very simple scenes.īack to the suggestion to use the Octane export function for animations. New users will spend a lot of time with problems known by the developers. Will it be more users if the problems of the early adopters are not solved? It’s quite unfair if features are great looking at the paper only. I payed 440,-€ and feels me like a beta tester. Firstly, it’s going to take a lot of time (for something with only 2 users of the Octane plugin so far have requested), and secondly, this is really a job for the Rhino/Bongo dev team.”Ī request of two users doesn’t mean it’s a request that can be ignored. Depending on the application this can be more or less of a pain but it is doable.Quote from the Sergenti forum - Paul wrote: “Micha - I am reluctant to undertake the work required to write a C# wrapper for the C++ Bongo SDK. LinkĪlembic export is point cache, it doesn't include any textures. I would like to see an Alembic tutorial for Blender too. The link below has iClone to Maya, iClone to Hitfilm, iClone to Fusion Alembic tutorials, etc. I am using octane render with 3d max plug in for 2016 version and when i import alembic data to 3d max 2016 i lose all uv cordinates, the same dont happen in 2017

You'll have should also import an OBJ or FBX of your character to get all the materials into Blender. Just import your ABC file via import menu. Link It's not in the official build yet, but probably will be soon.
OCTANE RENDER MAYA EXPORTER HOW TO
I cant find any information about how to set up alembic Octane import from iClone to Octane, has checked tutorial on Hitfilm but it seems that Octane has other settings.? abs file is gray and looks like the first frame of the animation, the. Yes that is from iClone I just used a scene I had previously set up from an old DAZ one in Octane standalone to frame it as so long since I fiddled with it I forgot how to do it as in I used the render target placement nodes etc I had set up previously, dropped the abc file in outliner and connected the cord to the placement brick instead of the DAZ one I had I hope Reallusion came out with a tutorial later. I have to do some more trials to see if i can get it to work. Yes aware but do not know how to add the material zones to do so.Īs I said a DS import has the little circle nodes on the brick I can link materials to from ones that come in with an obj of the same mesh I then delete. It may the 250 frame limit I found DAZ studio alembic exporter has I could do a 200 frame batch render but no idea how to load the textures as no nodes DS I load an obj and copy them over I also used an existing DS project I had and swapped out the abc file as had trouble framing it Does anyone have tips on how to do this ? abc file to Octane but can not get any animation. Hi Wendy, Sorry I do not understand, this is alembic export from iClone to Octane (not from Daz)? Have you tried alembic animation export to Octane ?Ĭan not get alembic animation to work in Octane render ? I've managed to import both.
